MANILA, Philippines - Anti-narcotics arrested two suspected drug pushers during a sting operation in Laguna, seizing 100 grams of methamphetamine hydrochloride, popularly known as shabu, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency said on Tuesday.
PDEA director general Arturo Cacdac Jr. identified the suspects as Christopher Leano, 37, of Umboy, Sta. Cruz, Laguna; and Iluminado Broas, 38, of Block 19, Phase 3 Lynville Subdivision, Barangay Calio, Sta. Cruz, Laguna.
Reports said that last Jan. 17, elements of PDEA Regional Office 4A conducted the buy-bust operation around 3 a.m. at Barangay Labuin, Pila, Laguna, resulting in the arrest of Leano and Broas, at around 3 a.m.
Leano and Broas were apprehended after they handed over 100 grams of shabu placed inside a knot-tied plastic sachet to a PDEA agent who acted as a poseur-buyer, reports added.
Drug charges are now being prepared before the court against the two men.
