ILOILO CITY, Philippines – Anti-narcotics agents seized at least P1.5 million worth of shabu and arrested two suspected drug couriers in a police operation in Jaro district yesterday morning.
Rio Galopin, 34, and Edwin Ferrer, 29, both of Guimaras reportedly yielded 150 grams of shabu and P12,000 cash, according to Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) regional director Paul Ledesma.
Galopin, who according to Ledesma was included in the PDEA watchlist, denied involvement in the illegal drug trade and claimed they were mere victims.
Ferrer had himself photographed showing his cuffed hands apparently to prove that he has nothing to be ashamed of.
Ledesma said Galopin and Ferrer’s arrest is PDEA’s third big haul in Region 6 for this month.
