MANILA, Philippines - The state weather bureau on Friday afternoon warned of possible flooding in Samar provinces due to heavy rains.
The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) issued a heavy rainfall warning for Samar, Eastern Samar and Northern Samar at 2 p.m.
"Flooding is possible in low lying areas and landslides in mountainous areas," PAGASA said.
The weather bureau has alerted the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council.
More than 4,000 people have been confirmed killed and four million were displaced as super typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan) battered the Eastern Visayas with record winds that triggered storm surges on November 8.
