CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga, Philippines – A newly elected barangay councilman was gunned down by two motorcycle-riding men in Pilar, Bataan last Wednesday night, authorities said.
In a report, Senior Superintendent Audi Atienza, Bataan police director, said Randy Dalisay, 42, newly elected councilman of Barangay Diwa, was walking on his way home after meeting some friends when he was attacked.
Atienza said Dalisay sustained 13 gunshot wounds and was declared dead on arrival at the Bataan General Hospital in Balanga City.
Responding policemen recovered 15 spent shells from a .45-caliber revolver at the crime scene, some 200 meters away from Dalisay’s house.
Dalisay, a gravel and sand agent, got the fourth highest number of votes in the barangay council race last Oct. 28.
Atienza said he has ordered Senior Inspector Dennis Orbista, Pilar police chief, to investigate the motive behind the killing and track down the gunmen.
