'Ramil' exits PAR, threatens Japan

MANILA, Philippines - Typhoon "Ramil" intensified further but it has left the Philippine Area of Responsibility on Monday morning, the state weather bureau said.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said Ramil was located at 830 kilometers northeast of Itbayat, Batanes at 10 a.m.

The typhoon is packed with maximum sustained winds of 175 kilometers near the center and gusts of up to 210 kilometers per hour.

Ramil is expected to move northwest at 28 kilometers per hour and is heading closer towards the southern islands of Japan.

It its 24-hour weather forecast, PAGASA said Palawan, Central Visayas and Mindanao will have cloudy skies with light to moderate rains ahd thunderstorms.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rainshowers and thunderstorms mostly in the afternoon or evening.
