LA Trinidad, Benguet – Police arrested on Monday afternoon a 53-year-old woman for keeping several firearms in her home in San Juan town, Abra province.
Senior Superintendern Benjamin Lusad, Abra provincial police director, identified the woman as Julie Timbreza of Barangay Supi-il.
Lusad said Timbreza was arrested after a police team found several firearms and ammunition from her house.
Among the items recovered from her house were a .45 pistol (Colt MK IV series 80) with serial number 398041, one cal. 30 (M1 Carbine) with a defaced serial number, one Armscor 12-gauge shotgun with serial number 879832, 59 bullets for cal. 30 (M1 Carbine), 14 bullets for cal. 45, four rounds of live ammunition for 12-gauge shotgun, three pieces magazine assembly for .45 pistol, four pieces magazine assembly for cal .30 (M1 Carbine), a black leather holster and and a black gun box (Taurus).
Lusad said the search was conducted in an orderly manner with the presence of barangay kagawads Nelson Barbosa and Mario Blaquera.
Timbreza has been detained at the San Juan Police Station.
