MANILA, Philippines - Some areas in Metro Manila were flooded on late Tuesday afternoon after a thunderstorm brought rains over the capital region.
State weather bureau PAGASA said in an advisory past 5 p.m. that a thunderstorm is affecting portions of Metro Manila and the provinces of Quezon, Tarlac, Rizal, Bulacan, Zambales, Bataan, Batangas, Laguna and Cavite.
The thunderstorm may persist within two hours, the agency added.
It warned the public against heavy rains, strong winds, and possible flashfloods.
In its Twitter account, the Metro Manila Development Authority reported some of the flooded areas as of 5 p.m.:
- EDSA Kamuning service road (north bound) -half tire-deep, not passable to light vehicles
- EDSA Quezon Ave (both directions) - not passable to light vehicles
- EDSA Main Ave (northbound) - gutter-deep
- EDSA Megamall (northbound) - tire-deep
- EDSA Kamayan to Mazda (southbound) - gutter-deep
- EDSA Quezon Ave (both directions) - not passable to light vehicles
- EDSA Gate 4 (northbound) - tire-deep
- Mindanao Ave - tire-deep
- C5 Hypermart - waist-deep
- C5 Libis Citybank - gutter-deep
