MANILA, Philippines -Interior and Local Government Secretary Mar Roxas on Tuesday assured the safety of Reynald Lim, Janet Napoles' brother, if he decides to surrender to authorities following a Makaqti City court's issuance of warrant of arrest in the serious illegal detention case against the siblings.
"Ang importante, buhay ang mga taong may impormasyon kung sino ang iba pang mga indibidwal na sangkot sa pagnanakaw sa kaban ng bayan. Hindi namin hahahayaan na mabura ang mga impormasyong ito dahil ito maglalantad ng buong katotohanan," Roxas said in a statement.
Besides his sister, Napoles, the alleged brains behind the P10 billion pork barrel scam, Lim is also implicated in the mess involving the alleged misuse of priority development assistance fund of legislators.
Napoles surrendered to President Benigno Aquino III Wednesday last week after the chief executive announced a P10-million reward for her arrest.
As this developed, Roxas also ordered the Philippine National Police to form tracker teams to istep up the hunt for Lim.
Malacañang also placed a P5-million reward for information leading to the arrest of Lim.
The Bureau of Immigration earlier included Napoles and Lim on its lookout bulletin to prevent them from leaving the country.
