MANILA, Philippines - Operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) arrested a former jail officer and two others in an anti-narcotics operation in Quezon City, the agency announced Friday.
PDEA director general Arturo Cacdac Jr. said Christopher Espejon, 39, an entrepreneur; Aileen Ong, 36, both of Block 28, Lot 2, Simbang Gabi Street, Lagro Subdivision, Quezon City; and Ferdinand Pingul, 47, a watch-listed drug personality in Quezon City were nabbed last July 31.
Cacdac said that Espejon was an officer of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology previously assigned at the bureau's headquarters along Mindanao Avenue in Quezon City.
He said that elements of the PDEA Regional Office National Capital Region implemented a search warrant issued by Judge Ferdinand Sagun Jr. of Quezon City Regional Trial Court Branch 78, around 9 a.m. at Barangay Greater Lagro.
Seized during the operation were more or less 10 grams of suspected shabu and various pieces of drug paraphernalia.
The three suspects are now under the custody of the PDEA RO-NCR Detention Facility in Quezon City.
