MANILA, Philippines - National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) chief Director Leonardo Espina has been named to the Philippine National Police's (PNP) 4th highest position.
Senior Superintendent Reuben Theodore Sindac, public information head, said Espina is being transferred to the PNP's National Headquarters to take on his new position as Chief of the Directorial Staff.
Espina's position at the NCRPO has been named to Chief Superintendent Marcelo Garbo, former director of the Police Regional Office 7 (PRO 7) in Central Visayas.
Former PNP spokesperson Chief Superintendent Generoso Cerbo Jr. has been appointed as officer-in-charge of PRO 7. Senior Superintendent Wilben Mayor has been named to Cerbo's former post.
Sindac said that the latest movements in the PNP's key positions was triggered by the retirement this week of Police Director Arnulfo Perez, former Director for Logistics.
Deputy Director General Rommel Heredia, who was sitting as Deputy Chief for Administration, and two other star-rank officers have also retired from the police service.
