MANILA, Philippines - Customs Commissioner Ruffy Biazon on Thursday dispelled rumors that he has stepped down from his post.
In his Twitter account, Biazon said he did not resign as Bureau of Customs commissioner and the rumors seem to be related to his campaign to weed his agency of "haoshiao" media or impostors, and to an alleged reshuffle of personnel in the bureau.
There is no truth to the rumor spreading that I have resigned. I'm in Brussels attending a conference of the World Customs Organization

He lamented that the rumors are being spread by media people themselves, with a "top-rating" radio station picking up the rumor.
"Sad to say, the resignation rumors are being circulated by persons in media themselves. No verification of facts," Biazon, who is currently in Brussels, Belgium, said on Twitter.
Asked on Twitter why these rumors are being circulated, Biazon said "They want me out of the Bureau because their interests are threatened."
The Customs chief said he will return to Manila on Sunday night.
