Phl gets ‘monsoon break,’ Luzon to have good weather

MANILA, Philippines - Residents of Luzon, including Metro Manila, will continue to experience good weather in the next few days, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said yesterday.

PAGASA weather forecaster Gladys Saludes said the country is experiencing a “monsoon break” after incessant rains in the past weeks, adding the southwest monsoon is expected to return tomorrow.

Saludes said the southwest monsoon will bring light to moderate rains over extreme Northern Luzon tomorrow.

“Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will continue to experience good weather aside from isolated thunderstorms,” she said.

Meanwhile, Saludes said the weather bureau is monitoring a potential low pressure area east of northern Mindanao.

“As of this moment, it has a slim chance of developing into a cyclone,” she said.

Saludes said eastern and central Visayas and the entire Mindanao will experience light to moderate rains due to the intertropical convergence zone.
