DJ nabbed over 'ectasy' in Baguio

MANILA, Philippines-- Anti-narcotics agents arrested a disc jockey during a sting operation in Baguio City, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) said on Friday.

PDEA chief Arturo Cacdac Jr. said Nhexie Canillas of Lower Cabinet Hill, Baguio City, was apprehended by operatives last June 5.

Reports said that joint operatives of the PDEA Regional Office 1 and PDEA Cordillera Administrative Region conducted a buy-bust operation within the vicinity of Nevada Square, Military Cut-Off, Baguio City which resulted in the arrest of Canillas.

"Canillas was a disk jockey in several bars in Nevada Square, Baguio City. He was arrested after selling 20 pieces of red pills suspected to be ecstasy to an undercover PDEA agent," Cacdac added.

Canillas will be charged for violation of Section 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs), Article II, of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
