ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines – At least 19 houses were destroyed as a tornado struck a village in San Pablo town, Zamboanga del Sur last Wednesday afternoon, but no casualties were reported, police said.
Chief Inspector Ariel Huesca, spokesman of the regional police, said the twister swept across Barangay Marcos, ruining a cluster of houses made of light materials.
Huesca said the incident affected nearly 100 residents who were evacuated to the town center.
Meanwhile, a flash flood submerged a village and destroyed a house and agricultural crops in Kabasalan, Zamboanga Sibugay Thursday.
