ILOILO CITY, Philippines – A village chief in Maasin, Iloilo was stabbed dead by two brothers-in-law last Friday night, police said.
The victim, Federico Sales, 50, sustained five stab wounds. His attackers, Alex Madero and Elvi Labrador, escaped after the stabbing.
Police said a drunk Sales went to a neighborhood store to buy beer but was told his preferred brand was out of stock. A verbal tussle then ensued between him and the suspects who were on a drinking spree at the store, leading to the stabbing.
