‘Pablo’ relief aid to continue till June

DAVAO CITY, Philippines – The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) is extending until June the relief assistance for the victims of typhoon “Pablo” that struck Compostela Valley and Davao Oriental last Dec. 4, leaving more than 1,000 dead and 500 others still missing.

According to the DSWD-Southern Mindanao office, the distribution of relief goods will continue until June but will be limited only to vulnerable families.

“What we will do is identify the most vulnerable groups like families with small children, persons with disabilities, senior citizens, pregnant and lactating mothers as well as families with members who are ill and those headed by children,” said Carmela Duron, spokesperson of DSWD-Region 11.
