Despite gun ban, 4 dead in Caloocan shooting

MANILA, Philippines - Three members of a family and a policeman were killed in a shooting incident in Camarin, Caloocan City early Wednesday.

The fatalities were identified as Manolito Picio and his sons Audie and Eric and Police Officer 3 Ernesto Castillo.

Radio reports said that Picio and his sons were having a drinking session when they were fired upon by an unidentified group of armed men.

Picio died on the spot while his two sons died while being treated at the hospital.

Castillo, meanwhile, was killed when unidentified shooters from the side of the Picios fired back at the attackers.

Police recovered several shotguns, arrows, grenades and spent shells from .45 caliber pistols and 9mm handguns.
