Legal counsels of activist poet Ericson Acosta said he will soon be released as a Samar court issued an order dismissing the charges against him.
The National Union of Peoples' Lawyers said the order issued by the Branch 41 of the regional trial court in Gandara, Samar as well as certification of the Department of Justice showing that the illegal possession of explosive filed against Acosta was already dismissed on January 31, 2013.
Last month Acosta arrived in Manila for a medical checkup for suspected renal problems.
Acosta is a cultural worker and activist arrested by the military while allegedly doing volunteer research work for a local peasant group.
