ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines - The police are tracking down the gunman who strafed the house of director of the Commission on Elections (Comelec) in Dipolog City, Zamboanga del Norte.
Senior Superintendent Nelson Eucogco, spokesman of Police Regional Office 9 (PRO), said the unidentified gunman fired shots at the house of Comelec director Jay Balisado along Padre Gomez Street, Barangay Biasong at about 2:45 a.m. last Friday.
Eucogco said no one was reported hurt in the attack as the suspect escaped on board a motorcycle.
He said Balisado, who is assigned as Comelec director in Davao City was not home during the incident, but the attack partially damaged his two service pick-up trucks and a service utility vehicle.
Responding police recovered from the crime scene empty shells from a .45 caliber pistol.
