Laguna town cop chief sacked over slow-paced probe

LAGUNA, Philippines – The chief of police in Pakil town has been relieved from his post  over the slow pace of the investigation into the  killing of a retired US Navy  and his maid last Jan. 7.

Senior Inspector Noel Valdes was appointed officer-in-charge, vice Senior Inspector Freud Vila, Pakil Mayor Vipops Charles Martinez said yesterday.

The bodies of Cesar Dalena, 57, and his maid, Jackielyn Tapulalan, 19 were found headless in Pakil town. A certain Nelson Agao survived the attack.

Martinez said he offered a P100,000 reward for anyone who could give information that could lead to the arrest of the suspect, Ronnie Gabion, 22.

He said he also offered a reward to the parents of Gabion for their son’s surrender.

The police have filed double murder and frustrated murder charges against Gabion.
