MANILA, Philippines -- Agents of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) arrested on Friday morning five suspects in the murder of a Japanese man in Cavite last December 29.
CIDG director Samuel Pagdilao identified those arrested as Merlinda Soria, wife of victim Hideo Niikura, her son Mark Anthony Soria, Gabriel Soria, Gil Brown Ilag and the alleged gunman Arnold Marcos were arrested Friday morning in separate operations in Barangays Sto. Nino and Poblacion, Dasmarinas City.
The CIDG said .a 45 caliber Caspian pistol was seized from Marcos while another .45 caliber pistol was found on Mark Anthony.
According to the CIDG, Merlinda allegedly had her 61-year old husband murdered over money matters and for alleged physical abuse.
The CIDG said Mark Anthony and his friend, Ilag, allegedly hired Marcos’ for P100,000.
