LEGAZPI CITY, Philippines – The Vinzons town government will raise funds to rebuild a 400-year-old Catholic church in Camarines Norte that was burned last Dec. 26.
Vinzons Mayor Agnes Ang said they would coordinate with the parish priest of St. Peter the Apostle for the guidelines of the fundraising.
“The best thing to do is to rehabilitate the St. Peter the Apostle Church since its pillars and walls are still intact,” Ang told reporters here.
Ang said it would be “a regrettable loss” to demolish the structure due to its historical value. The church is one of the oldest churches, dating back to the Spanish era.
