COTABATO CITY , Philippines – North Cotabato’s provincial police director was relieved from his post after less than four months in office.
Senior Superintendent Danny Peralta replaced Senior Superintendent Roque Alcantara on orders of Region 12 police director Chief Superintendent Alex Paul Monteagudo.
“As a good soldier, I will follow orders. No questions,” Alcantara said of his relief in an interview with Catholic station dxND in Kidapawan City.
“I don’t know the reason for my relief. I have not received a copy of the order. I just received a call saying I must vacate this post,” he said.
Speculations are rife that Alcantara was relieved after he filed charges for illegal possession of firearms against Basilio Obello Jr., a public information assistant of North Cotabato Rep. Nancy Catamco.
