P2-M reward up for arrest of radio anchor’s gunman

CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga, Philippines – A P2-million reward has been offered to anyone who can give information leading to the arrest of the killer of radio broadcaster Julius Cezar Cauzo in Cabanatuan City.

In a text message to The STAR, Senior Superintendent Walter Castillejos, Nueva Ecija police director, said P1 million was offered by the Cezar Vergara Foundation and another P1 million by Nueva Ecija Gov. Aurelio Umali.

“I am appealing to those who could give information vital to the early solution of this case,” said Castillejos in a text message.

He said at least three witnesses are helping police investigators identify the gunman.

Castillejos said he also requested the provincial crime laboratory office and Criminal Investigation and Detection Group to provide them with the digital forensic examination on Cauzo’s cellular phone.

“With the victim’s cellular phone, we would know if who were his latest callers and the text messages he received before he was killed,” he said.
