Woman with daughter, another fall in Makati drug bust
MANILA, Philippines - Makati policemen arrested two women for selling a sachet of methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu to an undercover police officer in Barangay Pio del Pilar on Wednesday afternoon. Makati City Police chief, Senior Superintendent Manuel Lukban, identified the suspects as Jennilyn Guzon, alias Jane, 27, of 6771 Santuico Street, Barangay Pio del Pilar, and Melanie Tolentino, 39, jobless and single mother who lives at the same address. Lukban said that the suspects have been under surveillance after the city police received complaints from residents of Barangay Pio del Pilar. Te suspects were arrested after passing a plastic sachet containing shabu woth P500 to an undercover policeman who pretended to be a buyer in a buy-bust operation at about 5:30 p.m. along Santuico St. Lukban said that when the arresting officers conducted a body search, Guzon yielded three more sachets of shabu while Tolentino, who was carrying along her four-year-old daughter, yielded the marked money and another sachet of shabu. Both women are now detained at the Makati Police Station headquarters for drug trafficking while Tolentino’s daughter was turned over by police to the custody of the Makati City Social Welfare Division.
