MANILA, Philippines - The widow of the late Interior and Local Government Secretary Jesse Robredo has not changed her mind and maintained she will not seek any elective position in the May 2013 elections.
“No, I won’t run but I will just help my husband’s allies in Bicol in my own small way,” said lawyer Leni Robredo in an interview with radio station dzRH.
Mrs. Robredo, along with daughters Jessica Marie, Janine Patricia and Jillian Therese, yesterday led activities for the observance of the 40th day of her husband’s death in a plane crash off Masbate last Aug. 18.
If she gets appointed to the judiciary, Mrs. Robredo said she intends to ask the Judicial and Bar Council to assign her not in Naga City but in Metro Manila so she and Jillian, her youngest daughter, would be able to join Aika and Tricia, who are staying in Manila.
She said she and her three daughters decided to live in Manila to be able to spend quality time and for their safety.
