LEGAZPI CITY , Philippines – Two soldiers were killed while four others were wounded in a firefight with at least 40 New People’s Army (NPA) rebels in Bulusan, Sorsogon on Thursday morning, the military said.Killed were Privates First Class Romy Dacuro and Michael Bigay, both personnel of the Army’s 31st Infantry Battalion based in Juban town.Wounded were Pfc. Jaypee Retardo, who was hit in the head and airlifted to the V. Luna Hospital in Quezon City; Cpl. Rolando Cruzado, and Pfcs. Ryan Royales and Gilbert Llandelar.The encounter took place two days after two rebels were killed and an NPA commander was captured in a clash with government troops in Iriga City, Camarines Sur.
