Manila, Philippines - Pampanga Auxiliary Bishop Pablo David yesterday said their province is looking for alternative politicians to participate in next year’s local elections.
David said residents of Pampanga want a new breed of local leaders.
“It is the dream of the Kapampangans to have new faces, new leaders. We are trying as much as possible to encourage a new breed of promising leaders to enter politics. What we have is politics of patronage. We want to make even a small change in this kind of politics,” said David.
He said he believes the province has a deep bench of leaders, but these aspiring politicians do not have the financial means and are not popular.
