GUIGUINTO, Bulacan, Philippines – Vehicles with top load above seven feet will be charged for class two vehicle category at North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) toll plazas starting today.
A P114 toll will be collected for these vehicles instead of only P45.
Bobby Bontia, Tollways Management Corp. vice president for tollways operation, said the Manila North Tollways Corp. (MNTC) and Toll Regulatory Board agreed on the toll hike.
Bontia said leaflets were distributed to motorists since last month to inform them of the changes in the toll.s.
Meanwhile, Bontia announced that MNTC will open the new Bocaue interchange on the northbound of NLEX next month.
He said the interchange will have three toll booths that will also collect toll.
Bontia said the Bocaue interchange is not part of the open system along NLEX, which is only between Marilao and Balintawak.
The road approaching the interchange from NLEX was widened to accommodate more vehicles.
