BACOLOD CITY, Philippines – The family of a prominent physician brutally slain last May 17 believes the assailants were hired killers.
Two males aged 16 and 18 recorded their attacks on Andres Gumban Jr., 63, a pulmonologist, in his home in this city last Thursday.
Eddie Gumban, the victim’s nephew, appealed to the two suspects, Fof Pascual, 18, of Sagay City, and a 16-year-old resident of Cadiz City, to reveal who ordered them to kill the doctor.
Eddie said they are deeply hurt by the killing of his uncle, who was slashed in the throat and bore 34 stab wounds and an “X” mark in the face.
Murder charges were filed against Pascual before the Bacolod regional trial court. The 16-year-old is under the custody of the Department of Social Welfare and Development.
