BACOLOD CITY, Philippines – Two fishermen in Sagay City, Negros Occidental died while eight others, including three children, were hospitalized after eating puffer fish, locally known as “butete,” last Tuesday afternoon, a radio report said.
Fishermen Romulo Celeste, 58, and Francisco Mapalo, 42, residents of Barangay Old Sagay, died in the district hospital a few hours after they, along with the other victims, consumed a “butete” dish cooked in coconut milk, Aksyon Radyo reported.
