MANILA, Philippines - A scrap dealer was killed while his son was wounded when a mortar projectile they bought exploded in their midst in Taytay, Rizal on Tuesday, police said.
Alex Carbongco, 44, a resident of Barangay Sta. Ana, Taytay town, sustained multiple shrapnel wounds and died on the spot.
His son, Kim Angelo, 13, also sustained shrapnel wounds and is now being treated at the Rizal Medical Center.
