LINGAYEN, Pangasinan ,Philippines – A jail guard here has been suspended for 60 days for allegedly coercing an inmate to stab another inmate.
Marcelo Lopez was charged on Jan. 19 with gross misconduct for “threatening, intimidating and coercing” inmate Gilbert Diaz to kill Felipe Quiliope and offering him a reward of P25,000.
Diaz stabbed Quiliope in different parts of body using an icepick Lopez provided, according to Geraldine Baniqued, provincial legal officer, who signed the suspension order.
