Lucena City, Philippines – A Philippine Coconut Authority (PCA) provincial manager was killed in an ambush along Maharlika Highway in Quezon province yesterday.
Police Superintendent Ramon Balauag identified the fatality as Necitas Pujanes, 62, PCA-Coconut Development manager in Batangas, and resident of Ilang-Ilang street, Capistrano Subdivision in Barangay Gulang-Gulang, Lucena City.
Philippine National Police spokesman Chief Superintendent Agrimero Cruz Jr. said investigation showed that Pujanes was turning right at the intersection of Bocohan Road when two men riding on a motorcycle approached the driver’s side of the service vehicle he was driving.
Witnesses said the back rider drew a caliber .45 pistol and shot the victim repeatedly. Pujanes suffered three gunshot wounds.
