BAGUIO CITY, Philippines – Hailstones, bigger than corn kernels, fell on this city for almost 15 minutes Wednesday afternoon.
The hailstones, mostly about five millimeters or even bigger, sent jitters among residents who rushed to protect their cars’ windshields or store glass windows from being shattered.
Benguet agriculturist Lolita Bentrez said they still have to cull reports from vegetable-producing towns in Benguet, including strawberry farms in La Trinidad, if there was any damage from the hailstorm.
A 30-minute downpour, coupled with thunderstorms, followed the hailstorm.
