CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga, Philippines – Four robbers broke into the residence of an American national in Capas, Tarlac and gunned him down last Monday morning, police said.
Senior Superintendent Alfredo Corpus, Tarlac police director, said Barry Ernest Lingley, 61, and his wife Vangeline were roused from sleep by the barking of their dog. When they went out of their room to check, they were met by the robbers, one of whom shot Lingley in the chest.
The robbers then tied up Lingley’s wife using the cable of a cell phone charger and blindfolded their two children aged 13 and six.
The robbers fled with cash, valuables and the family’s Toyota Altis, which was later found on the Capas highway.
