TRENTO, Agusan Del Sur, Philippines - At least 15 students from the International Peace Leadership College heading towards Davao City were injured when their vehicle swerved in a slippery road on Wednesday afternoon at the national highway in Purok 5, Barangay Malihog, Bunawan, Agusan del Sur, police said.
Bunawan Municipal Police office identified those who were injured as Aime Barrete, Lea Mae Ortiz, Joy delos Santos, Charizza Mae Collado, Mary-ann Marcelino, Glorifel Alvizo, Sally Jordin; Wilda June Abucayan, Rosemarie Helen, Zyrine Mago, Myril Jane Genavia, Mary Jorie Albollente, Sisame Fuentes, Dorlyn Sayne Dawa and Mary Joy Lavenia.
The police report claimed a white Nissan Urban Van (NKO 776) suddenly swerved then bumped into the road pavement while travelling along the national highway in said area going to Davao City due to slippery and wet road.
However, all 15 passengers suffered only minor injuries. The van driven by Allan Baradillo Rosit, married and a resident of 32 Samar Avenue, Quezon City was loaded with 20 students from the International Peace Leadership College when t the accident happened.
Personnel of Bunawan Municipal Station headed by its town police chief Senior Inspector Gauvin Gunzon went to the scene and provided assistance to the victims.
The injured victims were brought to Bunawan District Hospital for medical treatment.
