MANILA, Philippines - At least 54 people sustained injuries in road accidents in Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro and Dinalupihan, Bataan yesterday.
In Calapan, 19 passengers of a Ceres bus were hurt when the speeding Manila-bound vehicle suffered a flat tire and fell on its side while negotiating a curve along the highway in Barangay Lumangbayan.
In Dinalupihan, meanwhile, at least 35 people were injured in a collision of a mini-bus and a private car along a zigzag road at the town’s boundary with Olongapo City.
The mini-bus reportedly tried to overtake another vehicle but lost its brakes and slammed into a Kia sedan being driven by one Bernardo Bautista. – Juancho Mahusay, Arnell Ozaeta, Ric Sapnu, Raffy Viray
