CANDELARIA, Quezon, Philippines - A 36-year-old driver was found dead Saturday night hours after he was abducted by two unidentified armed men at Barangay Masalukot 1 here.
Marlon Manalo, a resident of Schoolview Subdivision at said village and driver of Quezon provincial board member Macario Boongaling was driving the latter’s Toyota Altis (AHG-530) on his way home at around 10:20 p.m. when flagged down by the suspects.
Probers SPO2 Menardo del Mundo and PO2 German de Villa said the suspects boarded the car and at gun point forced the victim to drive the car away.
Minutes later, the car was spotted in the adjacent town of San Juan, Batangas by patrolling policemen while abandoned at Barangay Muzon, the probers said, adding that there was blood stain at the driver’s seat.
The following day, the victim’s body was found dumped by residents at Barangay Del Rosario in Tiaong, Quezon, they said.
Initial investigation shows that an illicit love affair could have triggered the killing since the victim was a known womanizer in the town.
