SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga , Philippines – Re-electionist third district Rep. Aurelio Gonzales Jr. has declared an all-out campaign for Lakas-Kampi-CMD presidential bet Gilbert “Gibo” Teodoro in his turf.
“There’s a new marching order from the top and that is to step up the campaign for Secretary Gibo in our respective areas,” said Gonzales, a member of Lakas-Kampi-CMD’s executive committee and party district chairman.
Gonzales’ announcement came on the heels of Teodoro’s visit to this province last April 7 which culminated in a rally at the legislative district office of Gonzales in Barangay Sindalan here.
“The people’s support for Gibo is strong and growing, and we have to make sure this is translated into votes for him,” Gonzales said.
The lawmaker said the new drive for Teodoro will saturate the four towns and one city in his district, particularly Mexico town and this city where Teodoro’s rivals are making their presence felt, especially with the help of incumbent local executives.
Both localities, however, are considered as Gonzales’ political bailiwicks.
“For me, this is not just about party principles and loyalty but my deep admiration and strong faith in Gibo’s capability to lead this country into a better future if he is elected president,” Gonzales said.
Teodoro, he said, is every inch a gentleman and leader who has a heart for his countrymen and an unshakeable belief in what he can contribute to their well-being.
“I think that is the heart of our intensified campaign, to get hold of every voter in our district and tell them why Gibo is the best choice for this country at this point in time,” he said.
Gonzales said that if every Lakas official and member will do their best to campaign for Teodoro at the grassroots level, his victory on May 10 is achievable.
“We just have to get our act together from top to bottom and get the real machinery going to tap into the people’s real pulse and sentiment on who should be the next president of this country,” he said.
