Batangas , Philippines – A senior provincial board member was shot and wounded by a lone attacker at the provincial capitol compound yesterday afternoon, police said.
Superintendent Manuel Abu, Batangas police director, said board member Herminigildo Dolor, 62, had just stepped out of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan building when the gunman approached him near the parking lot and fired at him, hitting him in the back with the bullet piercing his lungs.
Policemen gave chase and gunned down the suspect, identified as Jonathan Angon, in front of a bus station a few meters away from the provincial capitol.
