Former board member shot dead

Camp Vicente Lim, Laguna, Philippines  – A 57-year-old former board member was shot dead by unidentified assailants while inside his house in Tiaong town Saturday evening, police said.

Superintendent Elmo Francis Sarona, Quezon police director identified the victim as Regore Baldeo, 57, businessman, a resident of Barangay Cabay and a former Quezon board member.

According to reports, Baldeo was having dinner in his house when the suspects arrived and shot the victim several times with 9mm pistol around 9:15 p.m.

After the incident, the suspects immediately fled towards the forested area with the weapon used.

The victim was brought to a nearby clinic but was declared dead-on-arrival by attending physicians.

Police recovered three empty shells and five slugs of 9mm caliber from the crime scene.

Baldeo was elected barangay captain in his village in 1995 and was also elected president of Tiaong Association of Barangay Captains. – With Michelle Zoleta, Ed Amoroso
