3 Chinese nationals fall in raid on Bulacan shabu laboratory

MALOLOS CITY , Philippines  – A combined police team arrested three Chinese nationals in a raid on a kitchen-type shabu laboratory in Meycauayan City that yielded chemicals and equipment used in manufacturing the illegal drug yesterday morning.

Operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) identified the suspects as James Chua, 36; Michael Uy, 32; and Ang Nong Cheng, 60, all of Fookien, China.

The three were arrested in the house of a certain Mario Chua where the shabu lab was set up in Sitio Dayap, Barangay Pantok, Meycauayan City.

The raiding team led by PDEA and the Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operation Task Force was armed with a search warrant issued by Judge Nina Antonio of the Manila Regional Trial Court Branch 28.

Other shabu labs were busted in the past in the Bulacan towns of Guiguinto, Calumpit, San Rafael, Marilao and Bocaue, and the cities of San Jose del Monte and Meycauayan.   – With Ric Sapnu
