DAVAO CITY, Philippines – More victims are expected to surface to support six others who earlier had filed cases of sexual harassment against a former police director of Davao del Sur.
Lawyer Ma. Mercedita Barrios-Talaver, of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP) and the Davao Lady Lawyers Association (Dallas), said they expect other victims to cooperate in the prosecution of Senior Superintendent Cesario Darantinao Jr.
“They do not necessarily have to be complainants themselves but they could help sign affidavits that would serve as additional evidence against Darantinao,” Talaver said.
Talaver is one of the six IBP and Dallas lawyers representing the six alleged victims – three policewomen, a police trainee and the wives of two police officers.
Besides the National Police Commission (Napolcom), she said they plan to file the cases in the regular courts.
