Zamboanga radioman survives attack

MANILA, Philippines – Police are closely coordinating with the relatives of a radioman who was wounded in an ambush in Buug, Zamboanga Sibugay last Wednesday to identify his attackers and determine the motive behind the slay attempt.

Chief Superintendent Angelo Sunglao, Western Mindanao police director, earlier directed the Zamboanga Sibugay police to form a task force to thoroughly investigate the attack on Harrison Mahusay Manalac, 49, and secure him in the hospital.

Manalac was shot with a caliber .45 pistol in the back by two motorcycle-riding men in front of radio station dxXE Hot FM at the Buug town proper.

Probers though said personal grudge could be behind the ambush as Mañalac was not considered a hard-hitting broadcaster. – Cecille Suerte Felipe, Roel Pareño
