BAUANG, La Union, Philippines – The Commission on Elections’ Second Division has affirmed a court decision dismissing the poll protest against this town’s mayor for lack of merit.
In an 89-page resolution, the division denied the appeal of losing mayoral bet Romina Joy Hidalgo-Dumpit, who alleged that the victory of Mayor Robert de Guzman in the 2007 elections was marred by irregularities. – Jun Elias
