Rains would still prevail over the eastern sections of the country this weekend due to the low pressure area (LPA) spotted off the Visayas and the northeast monsoon affecting Luzon, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said yesterday.
Pagasa Director Prisco Nilo also said it is still possible that the LPA will develop into a tropical cyclone next week.
“The LPA is expected to cross the Visayas (tomorrow) or Monday and bring rain in areas along its path,” Nilo said. “It is still possible that it will develop into a tropical cyclone next week.” – Helen Flores
