Containers dug up in Aurora had shabu

DINGALAN, Aurora – Laboratory tests by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) showed that two containers dug up along the shoreline here had shabu, authorities said.

Chief Superintendent Leon Nilo de la Cruz told The STAR that the gray crystalline substance found in the two containers dug up in Barangay Butas na Bato last Nov. 27 was confirmed to be shabu based on laboratory analysis at the PDEA regional office at Camp Olivas in Pampanga.

He said the substance, weighing 13 grams, had been turned over to the PDEA central office in Manila.

De la Cruz said the shabu could have been part of what was produced in a shabu laboratory which the National Bureau of Investigation raided in the barangay on Aug. 30, 2006.

The two containers were found just a stone’s throw away from the shabu lab where four Chinese nationals – Sy Tho, Wang Tha Ti, Chin Na Chua and Chen Chien – were arrested and which yielded 5.44 kilos of shabu valued at around P120 million.

The four foreigners were later acquitted by the Baler regional trial court due to technicalities.
