CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga – Police have arrested two suspected extortionists identifying themselves as members of “Hukbong Mapagpalayang Bayan (HMB), a break-away group of the New People’s Army during an entrapment operations in a restaurant in Barangay Sindalan, San Fernando, Pampanga, over the weekend.
Senior Superintendent Jessie Cardona, Regional Mobile Group (RMG3) director, identified the arrested suspects as Ewilfredo Esguerra and Junmar Dumlao, both residents of Pampanga.
Cardona said the suspects were immediately collared by RMG3 operatives during a pay-off at the Borbon’s Restaurant in Barangay Sindalan during an entrapment operations.
Cardona said that a certain Ruveneer Salon, human resource administrative officer of Central Country Estate asked an assistance about the extortion threat letters of the HMB headed by a certain “R.”
The group, Cardona said had already demanded P10,000 three times from the victim that started last August 2007.
