ESPERANZA, Agusan del Sur - President Gloria Arroyo yesterday urged officials of the country's poorest region, the Caraga Region particularly Agusan del Sur to be a picture of success in the government's P 1 billion funded war against poverty.
She assured residents present at the newly built Esperanza Medicare Community Hospital that no Filipinos will ever go hungry again in the future.
An official survey data from the National Economic and Development Authority and the National Statistics Office revealed Caraga Region is today's poorest among 16 regions of the country.
The survey also showed lack of local and foreign investments for the region has resulted to increasing unemployment regions of the country. Ben Serrano
